As the incumbent governor of Lagos state Babatunde Fashola rounds off his two term tenure this year, the battle for who takes over from him promises to be fierce.
The leading aspirants Akinwumi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer have already begun to flex their political muscles.
Ambode had called Agbaje an intern who lacked the experience, tested expertise and convincing capabilities to rule Lagos, during the last debate hosted by Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Despite the tension between the candidates, their wives seem not to be bothered.
At a recent interactive session in Lagos, their wives, Mrs Abiola Agbaje and Mrs Bolanle Ambode were spotted hugging each other with smiles on their faces.
Politics is definitely not a do or die affair after all.
